If you are new to Test Generator and computerized test creation, we encourage you to explore the available options and/or contact us to schedule an online demo.

If you are an existing customer upgrading from an earlier version of TG, please note that the layout and location of the various test properties has changed -- take time to explore the new TG landscape. If you have specific questions that are not addressed in this help file, please contact us.

The Options tab is organized into pre- (Before the Test), test (During the Test) and post-test (After the Test) categories.

• Survey

  A survey can be attached to a test and presented to the test taker at the conclusion of their test. Available surveys appear in the Survey table.

  Note: Surveys can also be given to test takers as a separate event, they do not have to be attached to the end of a test.

• Email

  Compose and deliver email to your enrolled test takers, instructors and/or email group. The email is sent at the conclusion of the test taking event.

  • When test result is [] Pass, [] Fail, [] Either (optional)

  • When test score (%) is =, >, >= [ ] and <, <= [ ] (optional)

  • When test attempt # is =, >, >= [ ] and <, <= [ ]

  • To: Email can be sent to the test taker and/or under 'Other Email...' one, or a comma delimited list of recipients.

  • From: Specify an email address

  • Subject: Email subject such as 'Test Results'

  • Body: Display: Define/customize your message using the rtf editor.

  • Include Test results in Email: If enabled this feature will present test data based on a test's print template and Study Guide settings. For more detailed information regarding updates to this topic, please contact us. Specify an email address.

  • Current Settings: Display message parameters.

  • Remove: Remove message.

  • Load: Load message.

  • Update: Update any edits/changes you’ve made to the message/settings.

  This feature allows test authors/administrators to compose and deliver email to their test takers, instructors, and/or email groups.

  Note: This feature is only available in TG Web.

• Certificate

• Study Guide

  A study guide is a snapshot of a test taker’s test. Using a combination of Print Options and various test parameter options, the test author can display, print or export this information. At the conclusion of a test, print a test, test key, study guide or study guide and test key.

  If you activate any of the Study Guide settings, your print output is based on either the Print Template defined under System > Settings > Print Template or a customized template which can be imported at a test level by selecting the 'Use this custom print template' option found under Test Settings > Test Properties > General tab.

  Note: The appearance of the Study Guide depends on the Print Template. For more information, see Using Print Templates.

  If your post-test requirements require some customization, please contact -- we may already have a print template that meets your requirements.

  We do not recommend using this option for high-stakes testing. Under most testing scenarios, we do not recommend enabling the print option, especially if your tests are long and/or you are testing several individuals simultaneously.

  If enabled, this option is ideally suited for one-on-one or small groups where the print output is managed by a proctor who reviews the results with the test taker and then retains the printed copy for filing or disposal.

  If your test is lengthy and/or is being given to many test takers, we do not recommend printing the entire test, as that may create a printing bottleneck. We recommend you enable Include Missed Questions to shorten the print process and reduce paper waste.
