The Tree Directory or simply "tree view" is the column appearing on the left side of the main window in Test Generator. Test Generator visually organizes the various modules test administrators and test authors/instructors use. Administrators have access to all of the modules and test authors/instructors have fewer options. Instructors can only view the classes and tests they have created or share.
Your Classes and Tests are organized under this module. The brown Sample Class folder includes two test examples, CPR and Math Sampler. This Class and its Tests are included with your installation and designed to serve as examples you can open, edit, and explore. Both tests are active and can be taken by any of the enrolled users, guests1 through 5.
For a step-by-step tutorial on creating your own Classes and Tests, see QuickStart in the TG Help Contents.
This is a special repository for tests that have been deleted from a Class. Typically, these are tests that have been created, published, given to Test Takers and then removed from circulation. Deleted tests are moved to the Archive Class before they are permanently deleted.
Tests that have been given have associated scores data. This data is retained as long as the test remains in the Archive Class. If the test is deleted from this class, the accompanying scores data are also deleted.
Back up your database and store in a safe place.
Print or export Test taker/Test reports associated with these tests.
Sample tests that you have no intention of activating.
Test exercises created as part of your introduction to TG.
Questions imported into TG and saved in temporary tests.
Archived tests can be re-used:
Open the test and save it (Save As) under another name. You can save the new test in the same or another class. Any scores data from the original test, are not carried over into the new test.
We recommend organizations apply existing policies or develop new ones based on how to manage tests and test results. This is a non-issue for some users and a serious concern for others. Please contact us if you have questions.
This is the application question bank module. At installation, it contains two folders: Sample Subject and Questions without a Subject. This module is where you create question banks.
The Media module is a repository for everything from ".jpg" to ".txt" files. Media files can be imported and organized in various folders. Once imported, you can use the media with any of TG’s question types. This makes it possible to use the same media file with different questions and across multiple tests.
The Users module contains information about Administrators, Instructors and Test Takers. User profiles are kept here. This information is only accessible by Administrators and Instructors. User information is created, accessed and managed here to include:
Scores
Login
Personal
Permissions
Notes
This feature enables administrative-level users to change their own User ID and Password.
The System module is limited to Administrators, the person or persons responsible for organizing and managing the resources in TG II.
