Once a Test has been taken, it should not be changed. However, from time to time it may be necessary to change Question scores after the test has been taken. (If the validity of a Question is challenged, for example, a TG Instructor or Administrator may wish to change the Question Score to 0.) In this case, the test needs to be re-scored to update previous Test taker scores.
Note: Re-scoring a test does not recheck test taker answers against the test’s correct answers, it simply re-computes the test taker’s scores based on the current points allocated.
To Rescore a Test:
Make the appropriate changes to the Question scores.
Save the test.
Highlight the Test in the Tree Directory on the main TG window.
Click the Scores tab on the right, then click the Rescore Test button at the bottom of the Scores folder.
Because Essay questions must be scored manually, re-scoring a Test does not affect the scores of Essay questions. Be sure to check the test essay questions, and manually rescore them if necessary by clicking the Score Essay button at the bottom of the Scores folder.
Changes made to the Partial Credit status of a Question are reflected after rescoring a test: after a Test has been taken, Partial Credit for a question can be changed to allowed or disallowed, and re-scoring the test changes the Test Takers' scores to reflect this change.
