The Update Legacy Data tool updates any older data records in your database to be sure they are compatible with your version of Test Generator. This ensures all your TG reports display your data as accurately as possible, and that rescoring old data works correctly.
The Update Legacy Data tool also identifies any corrupt records existing in your database. If any corrupt data is discovered in your database, the Update Legacy Data tool creates a file called TGerrors.html in your program folder. This file contains detailed information about the corrupt data.
The Update Legacy Data tool should always be run after updating your version of Test Generator, but it can be run again whenever you have reason to believe there may be legacy data records in your database. Scenarios that might introduce legacy data into your database include: importing user, test, or score data; swapping databases; or changing database locations.
If you are unsure whether your database contains any legacy data, you can always run the Update Legacy Data tool as a precaution. As with any database tool, it is recommended you backup your database before using the Update Legacy Data tool.
To update your legacy data, select Tools> Update Legacy Data in the Test Generator main window.
