In TG, feedback is defined as a test behavior giving test takers information regarding their performance. These behaviors can be customized on a per-test basis. There are different types of feedback:

If you are considering incorporating some form of feedback in your tests, we encourage you to experiment with the various options to familiarize yourself with the feedback behaviors your test takers may experienced. Below is a summary of some of these behaviors. For a more detailed overview regarding some of the options listed below, review Test Settings: Test Properties.

Pre-test Feedback

Login. A test taker logs in to Tester using a username and password. If the login information is incorrect or there are no tests available based on the user’s profile, Tester notifies the test taker. If there are tests the test taker is eligible to take, it displays in a Choose a Test/Survey window.

Once the test taker selects a test and clicks OK, a Security Agreement or information regarding various test properties enabled in the test may appear.

Test and Post-Test Feedback

Most feedback options are located under Test Settings > Test Properties > Options tab.
Review Tester Options for more details.

Feedback Tab

New in TG 2.4.#, this feedback feature enables a test author to provide Text, Media or Web (URL) feedback. To enable this feature you must first specify one of the feedback options found under the Test Settings > Test Properties > Options tab. Feedback (Text, Media, URL) can be displayed after the test taker selects a question and then clicks the navigation button, or at the conclusion of a test after the test taker submits the test.

Feedback Window

When you click the fb link in the Feedback tab, the feedback window opens.

Feedback Options

Label. Your feedback label can be customized or you can just call it Feedback.

You have three feedback options to choose from: text, media or a URL (web address).

Feedback can be customized per question.

Best Practices

Feedback should only be activated in testing scenarios where testing is practice and/or instructional activity and the security of the test is not a primary consideration.

Uses: flashcard-type testing, certification practice exams or introductory, sample exams to help familiarize new users with the test taking process.

We do not recommend using feedback with high-stakes testing.
