In TG, feedback is defined as a test behavior giving test takers information regarding their performance. These behaviors can be customized on a per-test basis. There are different types of feedback:
Introductory behaviors presenting information to the test taker before presenting he first question.
Test-session behaviors triggering feedback/responses to a test-taker’s responses.
Post-test behaviors displaying information following the submission of a test.
If you are considering incorporating some form of feedback in your tests, we encourage you to experiment with the various options to familiarize yourself with the feedback behaviors your test takers may experienced. Below is a summary of some of these behaviors. For a more detailed overview regarding some of the options listed below, review Test Settings: Test Properties.
Login. A test taker logs in to Tester using a username and password. If the login information is incorrect or there are no tests available based on the user’s profile, Tester notifies the test taker. If there are tests the test taker is eligible to take, it displays in a Choose a Test/Survey window.
Once the test taker selects a test and clicks OK, a Security Agreement or information regarding various test properties enabled in the test may appear.
Most feedback options are located under Test
Settings > Test Properties > Options tab.

New in TG 2.4.#, this feedback feature enables a test author to provide Text, Media or Web (URL) feedback. To enable this feature you must first specify one of the feedback options found under the Test Settings > Test Properties > Options tab. Feedback (Text, Media, URL) can be displayed after the test taker selects a question and then clicks the navigation button, or at the conclusion of a test after the test taker submits the test.
When you click the fb link in the Feedback tab, the feedback window opens.
Label. Your feedback label can be customized or you can just call it Feedback.
You have three feedback options to choose from: text, media or a URL (web address).
Show Text Specified Below: You can display a simple or detailed text description in the text stage.
Show Media Chosen Below: Once selected, the media bank appears in a column below. Locate your media from the list on the left. When you select an item and media information panel and a thumbnail of the media appears on the right. Click OK to include the media as your feedback or click Cancel.
Launch URL: Feedback can take the form of a URL (web address) the user clicks on. If the test taker clicks on the link (in Tester) a browser displays information relative to the test content. The link could point to a review page, technical documentation, a .PDF or some other form of remediation review.
Feedback can be customized per question.
Feedback should only be activated in testing scenarios where testing is practice and/or instructional activity and the security of the test is not a primary consideration.
Uses: flashcard-type testing, certification practice exams or introductory, sample exams to help familiarize new users with the test taking process.
We do not recommend using feedback with high-stakes testing.
