A TG Web option, SecureTG is an optional plug-in that enables organizations to deliver tests through a secure web Tester. It is useful for any organization that needs to deliver some, or all, of its tests through a secure browser - typically, in a non-proctored testing environment.

A SecureTG Tutorial is available on our web site.

Who should read

Note: the behaviors and setup described in this tutorial reflect one set of options. We have introduced other modifications/behaviors to accommodate a range of requirements. Contact us for more details.

Requirements

Enforce Secure Testing

To view a test under SecureTG, a test’s parameters must be activated under Test Settings > Test Properties > Security >Security Parameters > Enforce Secure Testing.

SecureTG Behaviors

There are various SecureTG "flavors" that can be customized based on your requirements. Here are a few options. If you requirements vary from those listed below, contact us.

In proctored test environments

SecureTG is installed and enabled by a proctor/test supervisor (review Tutorial). The resulting web window opens in a "locked" state. Test takers cannot:

  • Access the Start button

  • Select Alt + Tab key is disabled

  • Enable the navigation keys

  • Access the Windows taskbar

  • Perform Copy/Paste

  • Exit the secure browser window

  • Open another application

  • Activate Print Screen

  • Open Task Manager

Note: These settings are enabled in our Windows version of the Tester. There are other behaviors that are exclusive in the SecureTG (web) Tester.

In non-proctored test settings

If an organization wishes to have their off-site test takers log in to SecureTG and take a test, we have introduced an Active-X plug-in to enable the same/similar test behaviors (to those described above) in a non-proctored test environment (home or office).
