Test Authoring Options

• Create a test and manually type in all your questions and answers.

• Assign questions to existing QB subjects.

• Subjects can be created "on-the-fly" from the Choose a Subject window (toolbar).

• You can choose not to assign subjects to your questions.

You have a test in an MS Word file and you want to copy/paste your test content into a TG test.

• Save your Word doc as a Text Only document.

• Copy/paste the Word text into a text-only editor such as Note Pad or Note Tab Pro.

• Work from the text-only editor when copying and pasting text into your TG test.

• Create a test and import questions from the Question Bank. Assumption: you have already imported test items into the Question Bank.

• Once a question is imported into a test, the following conditions may apply:

• the question and assigned subject are imported into a test, but not modified.

• the question and assigned subject are imported into a test and one or several question parameters are modified - including the subject.

1. Create a test in a TG-friendly MS Excel file.

2. Import the test into TG: File > Import > from Custom Test.
   This process imports your questions into a test. Once imported, you can apply various question and test parameters. You can also modify (edit) the imported content, add questions as well as import additional items from the Question Bank.

Create a test using TG’s Test Wizard (TW). A TW-created test presents several benefits to the test author:

• Assuming all the imported test items are complete, the author can publish the test without any additional editing.
  
  OR

• The imported test can be modified extensively to include the addition of other questions as described under Options A, B, and C above.

Create a test, and use any combination of the above scenarios.
