Test Settings:
Eligibility Settings:
  1. Create a test (no retakes) and apply activation settings (FROM and TO dates): the FROM date is Jan. 01, 2010 and the TO date is Dec. 31, 2010.

  2. Enroll one or more test takers in your test specifying an eligibility date of Feb. 01. 2010.

    Note
: Even though the test is active beginning on Jan. 01, 2010, the test takers enrolled in step 2, are eligible to take the test beginning Feb. 01. 2010, 12:00:00 PM, or any time up to Dec. 31, 2010, 12:00:00 PM.

  3. Notify the test takers to take the test on Feb. 01. 2010, 1:00:00 PM. They log in to the Tester and take the test. Since you specified No Retakes in your Test Properties parameters, they cannot retake the test. However, based on your frequency settings, they are eligible to take the test again three months after their Feb. 01, 2010 test.

If one, or more, test takers cannot take the test on Feb. 01. 2010, they are still eligible to take the test because no deadline period was set (or had expired), and the TO activation date is set to Dec. 31, 2010.

For example, you re-schedule one or more test takers on Feb. 05, 2010. This set of test takers is eligible to take the test again three months after their Feb. 05, 2010 test session. If one or more enrolled test takers did not take either test (Feb. 01 or Feb. 05), the frequency setting does not apply to them because there is no test event against which to calculate a new eligibility date.

Best Practices

We recommend establishing some testing policies to govern these types of situations. Test administrators have various options to restrict non-compliant test takers from participating in the testing process. Resolving non-compliancy options include:
