Here are a few examples of test scenarios based on various test and eligibility settings. All these scenarios are based on enrolled test takers eligible to take a test.
Can take a test on or after the eligibility date and any time up to the test's expiration (TO) date as defined under the tests Activation parameters.
Can take a test, once. If allowed by the test administrator, the test taker can take the test any time between the eligibility date and the specified deadline (X days/weeks).
Does not take the test within the deadline period. The Test taker:
Is not eligible to take the test again.
Must be unenrolled and re-enrolled to re-activate eligibility.
Does not take the test within the deadline period. The Test taker:
Is not eligible to take the test again.
Must be unenrolled and re-enrolled tore-activate eligibility.
Passes the test on the first attempt and cannot take it again.
Fails the test. The Test taker:
Is eligible to retake the test X times.
Can exhaust all retakes if taken WITHIN the deadline period.
Cannot retake the test if does not exercise their retakes BEFORE the deadline.
Does not take the test within the deadline period. The Test taker:
The Test taker can take the test at any time up to the test's expiration (TO) date.
Takes the test less than 30 days from the expiration (TO) date, but the frequency is set to 30 days. Cannot take the test unless the TO date is reset to a future date.
Takes the test.
Regardless of whether the test is passed or failed, The Test taker is eligible to re-test X days/months AFTER the test attempt.
If the test administrator does not want the Test taker to take the test again the administrator must un-enroll the Test taker and then manually re-enroll the person at the appropriate time. if the administrator does not un-enroll the Test taker, the person is eligible to take the test again within x days/months as defined under the frequency settings.
Does not take the test within the time period. The Test taker:
Can take the test at any time up to the test's expiration (TO) date.
Takes the test less than 30 days from the expiration (TO) date, but the frequency is set to 30 days. Cannot take the test unless the TO date is reset to a future date.
Passes the test on the first attempt. The Test taker:
Is eligible to retake it X times, based on the retake settings.
Exhausts all the retakes immediately, or up to the "To" test date.
Note: Under this scenario, there is no deadline setting. Consequently, there aren't any controls (other than the test's TO date) forcing the Test taker to take the test within a specified period of time.
Fails all the allowable retakes. The Test taker is eligible to retest X days/months AFTER the last/final retake based on the frequency setting. The frequency (next allowed test period) begins following the final retake attempt.
Does not take the test within the deadline period. The Test taker is not eligible to re-test in X days/months. The frequency setting can't be calculated because there was never a test event to calculate against.
Passes the test on the first attempt. The Test taker cannot take it again UNTIL X days/months after the date of the test session, based on the frequency setting.
Fails the first attempt. The Test taker is eligible to retake it X times within the deadline period.
Fails one or more test attempts but does not exercise all of the retakes BEFORE the deadline period. The Test taker is eligible to retake the test X days/months AFTER the last, failed retake.
Does not take the test within the deadline period. The Test taker is not eligible to re-test in X days/months. The frequency setting can't be calculated because there was never a test event to calculate against.
Passes the test on the first attempt. The Test taker cannot take it again as there will never be a retest date. Frequency is NOT re-calculated because the Except when test has already been passed. option is true/checked.
Fails the first attempt. The Test taker:
Is eligible to retake it X times.
Can exhaust the retakes if taken WITHIN the deadline period.
Fails one or more test attempts but does not exercise all of the retakes BEFORE the deadline period. The Test taker is eligible to re-test X days/months AFTER their last, failed retake.
Passes on retake, the frequency is not reset because the Except when test has already been passed. option is true/checked. The Test taker is not eligible to re-test. If, for some reason, re-testing is required, the test administrator has to un/re-enroll the Test taker in order to re-qualify the Test taker to take the test.
Does not take the test within the deadline period. The Test taker:
Can take the test at any time up to the TO test date.
Takes the test less than 30 days from the expiration (TO) date, but the frequency is set to 30 days. Cannot take the test unless the TO date is reset to a future date.
Passes the test on the first attempt. The Test taker cannot take it again. The frequency is NOT reset because the Except when test has already been passed. option is true/checked.
Fails the first attempt. The Test taker:
Can take it again in x days/months, based on the frequency setting.
Takes the test less than 30 days from the expiration (TO) date, but the frequency is set to 30 days. Cannot take the test unless the TO date is reset to a future date.
If the Test taker continues to fail the test on subsequent attempts (based on frequency setting), there are no controls for suspending the Test taker from further retakes. This requires some intervention from the test administrator to un-enroll the Test taker, or provide additional training/support to correct this deficit.
Does not take the test within the days/months defined under the deadline settings. The eligibility date DOES NOT reset based on the frequency settings.
Passes the test on the first attempt. The test take is not eligible to take the test because the Except when test has already been passed. option is true/checked.
Fails the first attempt. The Test taker:
Can take it again in x days/months, based on the frequency setting.
If the Test taker continues to fail the test on subsequent attempts (based on frequency setting), there are no controls for suspending the Test taker from further retakes. This requires some intervention from the test administrator to un-enroll the Test taker, or provide additional training/support to correct this deficit.
